Apollon Town Meeting Oct. 17th, 2018


General Introduction

  In this town meeting, our panel moderated by Eddie Kaiser who is a civil servant discussed whether we should make a new national holiday.
  As a background to this discussion, we have a national holiday which is called Sunflower Day, but there is no holiday except for it. Many people want to rest, but some people should work even if it is a holiday.

The Panelists Today Were:

Emily Carter: a 22-year-old female photographer who agreed to make a new national holiday, because she thought that making a new holiday would allow people to do a lot of things such as being with family. Her suggestion was to make Mt. Sunbirds Day when people climb the mountain, take pictures and thank the nature.

Michael Scofield: a 30-year-old male building engineer who agreed to make a new national holiday, because he thought it would enable people to rest. 

Anne Watson: a 28-year-old female interior coordinator who agreed to make a new national holiday, because she thought it may motivate people and develop tourism. Her suggestion was to make Forest Day when people learn about forest, trim tree, plant tree, make wooden products and thank the nature.

Charlotte: a 37-year-old female chef who was neutral on ground. She pointed out good and bad points to make a new holiday. She is a wife and mother, so she want to rest with her family, but she should work even if it is a holiday. She finally suggested to make Worker's Day when everyone don't work.

Rachel Mcadams: a 26-year-old CA who disagreed to make a new national holiday at first because everyone can't rest, however, she finally changed her mind. She suggested to make National Foundation Day in order our to feel common connection. In the holiday, the time to work is decided only in the morning, so people don't work in the evening.

Consensus

  The panel was able to move toward an agreeable consensus! They made a new holiday, Thanks for Nature Day in Sep. 30th when Apollon was founded. They also decided the time to work, so people finish working by 13:00 in the holiday.

Observation and Opinions

  The discussion was great. Panelists exactly had own opinion and they talked a lot.  I feel the idea that decided the working time is good. Though I'm a fisherman and I usually work hard in the morning, other people can rest when they work hard. I also feel it so good to have a opportunity to thank the nature. I know the importance of the nature, but we should tell that to our children. Finally, I think the discussion is effective because people can take a rest in the evening and children can have a good opportunity to learn the nature.

Apollon Town Meeting Dec. 13th

General Introduction   In this town meeting, our panel moderated by Lily Williams who is a 33-years-old female opera singer discussed whether Apollonpic should be held or not.   As a background to this discussion, the 20% people in Apollon are obesity. The Panelists Today Were: Arnold Schwarzenegger : a 31-year-old comedian who agreed to hold Apollonpic because he thought reducing the number of the people who are obesity would make our economy better. Rosie Jones : a 30-year-old mother who agreed to hold Apollonpic because she thought it would make people get along better or life style related disease improve and it would make the image to Apollon better. Olivia Banner : a 35-year-old female travel agency who agreed to hold Apollonpic because she thought it would make people get along better. General Introduction   In this town meeting, our panel moderated by Chalsea Usher who is a baker discussed whether we should make a local food.   As a background to this discussion, we have no local food though the main work in Apollon is farming. The Panelists Today Were: Rosie Jones : a 30-year-old mother who agreed to make a local food, because she thought many people would come to Apollon and the economy in Apollon would improve by doing so. She suggested to make a local food which is made from wheat flour because Apollon is famous for wheat flour. She also suggested to make a food which has a sunflower motif and which is not high in calories.
